The first lecture for this course we discussed the purpose of learning about New Communication Technologies and what they were.
In an ever changing world where technology and social media is becoming increasingly popular and important, we as Communication students will find it beneficial to learn how to use these sites and technologies. It will make us more attractive to future employers and we will be more confident in our fields.
What is technology?
A definition given to us by our Lecturer on Technology is the "scientific study of mechanical arts and their application to the world."
New Communications include (but not limited to) computers, multimedia, Internet, virtual reality, virtual agents, mobile phones, Skype, iPods, iPads, iPhones, youTube, Broadband, Hactavism-Anonymous, social media going viral, privacy, big companies and tax and the NBN.
